Situation:
This client had been receiving product from Canada by rail due to weight restrictions. They had to purchase an entire trainload to make the shipment happen, and delivery time was months after the order was placed. Our client needed to move to a JIT schedule, but the supply chain rendered this impossible.
Solution:
We researched the situation and set to work on creating a solution for our customer. We obtained our Canadian operating authority and then built two sets of highly specialized doubles that allowed us to pull heavy from Canada to the US. By increasing the efficiency of the product transportation, we reduced the delivery time from months to days and saved our client time and money. |
